WHY US?

Meet the needs clients are asking for — before they go elsewhere
Pet owners increasingly expect tailored care for EVERY life stage. Clinics that can confidently provide hospice and euthanasia services gain a reputation for empathy and expertise, and retain loyal clients. The Art of Goodbye gives your team the practical training and tools to meet this demand with confidence, consistency, and care.

Fill the gap in the “forgotten life stage”
The palliative and hospice phase is often overlooked in veterinary care, leaving both families and clinic teams unprepared. Our courses teach your team how to integrate structured, compassionate care into this final chapter, helping your clinic stand out as a leader in patient-centered care.

Support your team, reduce burnout
End-of-life care can be emotionally challenging. The Art of Goodbye equips your staff with communication strategies, grief support techniques, and practical protocols, empowering them to navigate difficult moments without feeling overwhelmed. A confident, prepared team improves morale, retention, and client satisfaction.

Strengthen client relationships and trust
Families remember how their pets were cared for during their final days. By providing thoughtful, compassionate support, that is tailored to the final phase of a pets life, your clinic deepens client loyalty, builds positive word-of-mouth, and creates long-term relationships that benefit both pets and your practice.

Founder & Owner

Emily Piché, RVT, CHPT, CPEP

Emily is a devoted hospice care provider, educator, and international speaker who has built her career around compassion, clarity, and meaningful connection.

She is driven by a simple belief: families deserve compassionate, tailored support during the final chapter of their pet’s life, and veterinary teams deserve the training and tools to confidently provide it.

Her passion lies in helping veterinary teams integrate tailored care for this all too often forgotten life stage, the palliative and hospice phase. Emily is committed to changing the way this chapter is approached within clinics, ensuring it receives the same intention and structure that we provide to every other stage of a patient’s life.

Through her speaking engagements, workshops, and contributions to publications such as the OAVT Medical Journal, Vet Practice News Magazine, and Today’s Veterinary Nurse (spring 2026), she has helped expand the global conversation about the importance of tailoring care across the entire lifespan, including the final one.

Emily’s work in this field began in 2018 when she helped launch one of Canada’s first Veterinary Hospice Centres, serving as Assistant Medical Director. In 2021, she became one of the earliest RVTs in Canada to provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services under indirect veterinary supervision. Since then, she has supported thousands of families through their pets’ final moments and has educated thousands of veterinary professionals worldwide, offering practical strategies that elevate both patient comfort and team well-being.

Her mission is to honour the human–animal bond at every stage and to ensure that both families and veterinary teams feel supported, informed, and empowered during end-of-life care. Emily is a strong advocate for a future where RVTs play a leading, recognized role in meeting the growing need for compassionate, comprehensive palliative and hospice support within the veterinary profession.
